I thought I would share a few tips with everyone about preparing your hair for your wedding day. Hair prep is just as important as choosing your dress or venue. With all eyes on you, you want to make sure your hair looks its best. Here are a few tips to help you achieve the perfect wedding day hairstyle.

  1. Start with healthy hair: Months before the wedding, make sure your hair is in good condition. Get regular trims to avoid split ends and breakage. Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week to keep your hair hydrated and healthy. I would recommend Wella Ultimate Repair, this treatment rebuilds bonds inside using omega 3 and supplies extra moisture. A good tip is to air dry your hair for a month before the day, as even a hairdryer can damage hair.
  2. I would strongly recommend a trial run: Schedule a hair trial with your stylist about 3 months before your wedding. This will allow you to discuss your ideas and try out different styles to see what works best for you. If you have any hair decorations, bring them along to your trial along with inspiration photos (a good tip is to choose photos that have a similar colouring and length to your hair).
  3. Wash your hair the night before: Avoid washing your hair on the day of the wedding. Clean hair can be too soft and difficult to style. Instead, wash your hair the night before and let it air dry. Sometimes on the day if the hair is too soft it can alter the desire look.
  4. Trust your stylist: On the day of the wedding, trust your stylist to create the perfect hairstyle for you. They have the experience and expertise to make you look and feel your best. As an experienced stylist, I arrive early to have a consultation with you if you have been unable to have a trial, and I stay with you for as long as I am needed. I also offer a top up service.

Remember, preparation is key to ensuring your hair looks flawless on your wedding day. With the right care and planning, you’ll have a hairstyle that you’ll love and that will make you feel confident and beautiful.
